Mission StatementThe music teachers association of South East Ohio has a small but dedicated membership. The South East District includes the counties: Athens, Washington, Morgan, Hocking, Meigs, Gallia, Jackson, Scioto, Pike, Ross, Lawrence and Vinton.
Many of our events are held on the Ohio University campus in Athens and on the Marietta College campus in Marietta as well as other venues in the area. Our association provides performance opportunities for music students and learning opportunities for music teachers. We offer a Pop Music Showcase event in the late Fall and a Sonatina Festival event in early Spring. We offer lectures and masterclasses for our teachers at least two times a year and we also promote musical listening experiences for our students whenever musical artists come to our area to give recitals. We are dedicated to providing excellent musical musical education to our students and increasing the number of music lovers in our community. |

This year, 2021-2022, we will be holding the Pop Showcase at Ohio University and the Sonatina Festival at Marietta College.
